Jennifer Shufflebotham

Outreach Worker

My background is in museums and heritage and I most recently worked as a Museum Enabler at Thinktank for Birmingham Museums Trust. In this role I delivered a number of informal learning activities including storytelling, science busking and planetarium shows. I had a strong interest in not only the industrial heritage collection (featuring the Lanchester petrol electric hybrid car!) but also in the museum’s natural history collection. This led me to write and present my own Taxidermy Taster Talk which invited visitors to handle a real Taxidermy hedgehog. Working with the school groups was a huge highlight of a role for me and I can’t wait to start delivering our own Lanchester Invention Workshops.

I am currently studying a part time Masters in Painting at Coventry University, and graduated with a First Class Fine Art Degree from Coventry University in 2014. I have exhibited my paintings in various galleries across the midlands, notably Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, and The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. I also have a painting on display in the prime location of our very own Lanchester Library.
